Residential Comfort Advisor / Light Commercial Account Manager

Job Summary
The primary responsibilities of this position include: design, estimate and propose residential and light commercial HVAC project work In addition to service agreements, Indoor air quality and repair/retrofit work. Support service technicians, dispatchers, customers, potential customers, vendors, and installers; assure that projects, and service requests under your management are organized, performed safely and completed on time.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to the following (other duties may be assigned as well):

  • Perform in-home residential sales appointments and maintain an acceptable closing rate.
  • Create sales opportunities within the Home Performance with Energy Star Program.
  • Perform commercial and residential duct cleaning sales appointments.
  • Show a high level of customer service skills.
  • Communicate with field supervisors, project managers, dispatchers and service managers and communicate scheduling needs and manpower requirements to maintain project goals.
  • Respond to residential and light commercial HVAC service calls as required/dispatched.
  • Adhere to corporate policy on safety and follow all safe work practices and procedures.
  • Ensure that work is executed in an efficient and productive manor and attempt to limit the number of outside distractions that could occur while performing your work.
  • Be familiar with all HVAC services we provide and display the ability to discuss with customers or prospective customers.
  • Offer and sell “add-on” services and equipment on existing installations and service calls.
  • Review equipment installation requirements and make adjustments as needed.
  • Assist and participate in the on-call rotation.

General Duties

  • Order materials and equipment required for projects sold.
  • Properly convey the scope of work with technicians assigned to the project/agreement..
  • Coordinate projects, manpower, work schedules and materials as needed.
  • Communicate with the customers, as well as our staff, throughout the progress of the agreement/project to assure customer satisfaction and profitability.
  • Plan ahead on projects to ensure the highest level of productivity on the job.
  • Properly calculate and assure each invoice is prepared and mailed at the appropriate time.
  • Participate in staff meetings to ensure our support staff is aware of project/agreement status.
  • Notify management immediately of any significant problems.
  • Work to immediately resolve any problems that may arise from projects/agreements sold or under your management.
  • Resolve any questions, concerns, or disputes regarding invoices, and assist in the collection of any monies due on the project.
  • Provide immediate performance feedback to supervisors in regards to employees working on your projects.
  • Work closely with service dispatch on emergency service calls as required.
  • Assist engineers, project and field managers on work as required.
  • Understand and adhere to our pricing models.
  • Enforce corporate policy on safety, work ethics and time constraints.
  • Maintain pro-active discussions of job goals, assign new weekly goals and initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals to their highest potential.
  • Work with existing vendor relationships (gain approval from GM on new vendor relationships as required).

Secondary Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include assisting training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Maintain pro-active discussions of job goals, assigning new weekly goals and initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals to their highest potential.

Qualifications

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before customers, employees, and potential employees.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, prices/costs, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Reasoning Ability
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of employee issues.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Maintain violation free Driver's license, all state occupational licenses and certifications and universal refrigerant transition and recovery certification.

Education and/or Experience
Higher education or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 5-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
